West Coast Eagles defender Tom Barrass has told the club he wants to be traded to be Hawthorn.
A switch to the Hawks would see him reunited with his former West Coast teammate Sam Mitchell, the Hawthorn coach.Barrass, who will turn 29 in October, reportedly met with Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell — his former teammate and assistant coach at West Coast — last month.
West Coast released a statement on Tuesday afternoon, confirming Barrass had submitted a trade request during his exit interview, and nominated Hawthorn as his preferred destination. "While the club respects Tom's request, he is contracted for another three seasons and our vice-captain.
