A popular community hub has shut down following the recent discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) in the facility.
Bearsden Community Hub and Halls were advised that RAAC is present in the rear section of the facility after structural engineers undertook recent survey work.Further investigations into RAAC usage in Bearsden Community Hub has shown that it is present in the various roofs of the buildings at the rear and needs to be removed.
“Whilst our customers who use the customer service, library and community hall facilities will be disappointed, we thank everyone in advance for their understanding as we determine the extent of the RAAC and remedial action we then need to undertake.”In-person customer service delivery will remain available from the three other Community Hubs in Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Lennoxtown.
