Prosecutors dropped a murder charge as part of the plea deal . Walker is scheduled to be sentenced to 29 years in prison in February 2025.
The case against Walker spanned nearly five years, involving numerous juvenile defendants. Walker admitted to planning the robbery with others, surveilling the Airbnb rental where Pop Smoke was staying, and supplying a firearm to one of the juveniles involved. Prosecutors presented evidence that Walker and his accomplices targeted Pop Smoke based on a social media post where he displayed expensive jewelry. They tracked down the rapper's location after he inadvertently revealed the Airbnb address in a picture.During the hearing, Walker briefly interacted with his four-year-old daughter, whom he was unable to meet before his arrest. Pop Smoke's mother expressed gratitude for the resolution of the case but acknowledged the enduring pain of her son's loss. The case against Walker involved complex legal considerations given the involvement of multiple juveniles. The eldest juvenile in the case was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. The other juveniles involved also faced legal consequences.
