While pop music has reclaimed its position as the fastest-growing streaming genre in the United States, Latin music continues to experience significant growth. Luminate's data reveals that Latin music surged by 15.1% from summer 2023, making it the fastest-growing genre in the first half of 2024. However, pop took the lead in the second half. Female solo artists have driven this surge in pop consumption, accounting for nearly two-thirds of streams among the top 100 pop artists. Latin music's popularity remains strong, with regional Mexican music overtaking Latin pop as the largest subgenre in the U.S. Despite pop's resurgence, rap and R&B still dominate overall music streaming in the U.S.

“Latin still grew by both volume and its share of total U.S. audio streaming during the course of 2024,” Marconette said. “When looking at Latin subgenre activity, Regional Mexican dominated in terms of growth.”
