In this week’s North Royalton Police Blotter, police were dispatched to Royalton Road regarding a single-car crash.

On Dec. 10, police were dispatched to Royalton Road regarding a single-car crash. An arriving officer wasn’t able to locate the driver but did find a large amount of blood splattered inside of the truck, as well as an iPhone and work badge.

The officer did go to the driver’s North Royalton home; however, his stepfather said he didn’t live there anymore. The police cited the Chevy owner for obstruction, hit-skip, reasonable control, driving on sidewalks and driving in marked lanes. An arriving officer talked to the caller, who worked for an insurance company. She said a Kentucky man unhappy with the company’s service threatened if he didn’t get paid that he would be traveling to Ohio. The woman was worried because despite the fact her work phone is registered out of Texas, the man knew she lived in Ohio. The customer also said he wanted to do a statement in person, but she stressed the company only does statements over the phone. Then the next day, the man, after learning the woman was no longer handling her claim, said he “might have to be the bad guy.”This was followed by asking the caller out for dinner.Get police blotters by email every weekday for free with our new Police Blotter newsletter.
