Police Minister Cele implicated in corrupt grabber deal
Brigadier Tiyani Hlungwani, former chief financial officer of the Crime Intelligence's secret services account, has filed a new affidavit implicating Police Minister Bheki Cele in the alleged corruption involving a multimillion-rand purchase of surveillance equipment without obtaining the required exemption certificate.
Hlungwani, who faces disciplinary action for being in possession a state vehicle without permission, filed an affidavit on March 3, claiming that he has been targeted for many reasons, including undue pressure on him to finalise the procurement of grabbers before the end of April 2019.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
