No arrests had been announced as of 1:30 p.m. Sunday and the investigations remain ongoing.
The first shooting was reported at 10:30 p.m. Saturday when off-duty Paterson police officers heard gunshots coming from the area of Colonial Avenue in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announced in a joint statement. No one was located at the scene, but the victim — a 29-year-old man from Paterson — was later taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.Police were dispatched to the area of North Main Street and Haledon Avenue in Paterson at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday on a report of a shooting, Valdes and Baycora said.He was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.
