Police identify 20-year-old killed in San Ysidro shooting [Breaking]
San Diego police have identified a 20-year-old man who was fatally shot while visiting friends in San Ysidro on Friday night.
Carlos Arvizu of San Diego was shot at least once as he was standing in front of a residence on East Park Avenue near West San Ysidro Boulevard around 10:20 p.m., police Lt. Steve Shebloski said in a news release. When officers arrived, they found Arvizu suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.“It is still early in the investigation and little is known about the circumstances leading up to death, other than the victim was apparently visiting friends at a residence in the area when he was confronted... and was shot at least one time,” Shebloski said.
The vehicle sped off after the shooting. Shebloski said detectives are talking with residents in the neighborhood, looking for evidence and potential witnesses. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 531-2293 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 580-8477.
