A woman walked into the Bristol Police Department Thursday night and fired multiple shots in the lobby, according to police. She is being held on $3 million bond.Police said the woman entered the lobby and fired several times at the front lobby desk, which was unoccupied at the time. The desk is protected by bullet-resistant glass, and the bullets did not get through the glass, according to police.
As officers came out to the lobby, the woman fired more shots and one officer returned fire, but again, none of the bullets got through the glass, police said.At that point, the woman put the gun down and officers deployed a stun gun and then took the woman into custody.Bristol police released this photo of Suzanne Laprise. She is accused of firing shots inside the Bristol Police station.
Laprise is being held on a $3,000,000.00 bond and will arraigned later today at New Britain Superior Court.while responding to a call. Last Oct. 12, Lt. Dustin DeMonte and Sgt. Alex Hamzy were ambushed by a suspect and died in the line of duty. The department has been making plans to mark one year since the tragedy next week.

Bulletproof glass stopped themAuthorities say a woman is under arrest after she fired several gunshots inside a Connecticut police station. Police say the shooting happened just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday when a woman entered the lobby of the Bristol Police Department and fired several shots at the front desk window. The front desk was unoccupied and the gunshots did not penetrate the window’s bullet-resistant glass. Officers responded and tried to negotiate with the woman but she fired more shots and one officer to return fire, police said. The shots were again stopped by bulletproof glass. Police used a stun gun to subdue the woman and she was arrested.
