Redwood City police are investigating after a shooting was reported Wednesday morning on Hastings Avenue near McGarvey Avenue and Farm Hill Boulevard.

Police aren't releasing too many details, but say it was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.

The Redwood City Police Department issued an alert at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday saying they responded to a report that someone was shot near Fernside Street and Hastings Avenue.At least one drone was deployed to assist in the investigation and you could see a trail of blood along a long stretch of sidewalk.Residents say it's a quiet neighborhood. "It's a shock," said Redwood City Resident Gary Smithart. "It's a real shock. I'm not even sure how to process it, to be honest with you." "It's kind of sad that it happens in our neighborhood," said Redwood City Resident Lupita Montijo. "We were coming from the dentist and I see all these police cars. I thought, 'oh my gosh what's happening here.'"Family of teacher killed in Oakland mass shooting asks city leaders to help prevent future tragedies Many neighbors said the home where the activity was centered is a short-term rental. ABC7 Eyewitness News found a listing for it online. "It invites other elements in," Smithart said. "Everybody's a family here.
