Authorities in Rhode Island on Friday identified the child and man who were found dead at a home the previous day as father and son.
WARWICK, R.I. —The Warwick Police Department said a 33-year-old father shot and killed his 4-year-old son before turning the gun on himself.
The department said the mother-in-law, identified as Ellen Dempsey, was able to communicate with officers and safely leave the home. confirmed the child went to Warwick Early Learning Center. The school community is getting some support from police comfort dogs."I'm stunned," said Warwick resident, Mary. "I feel really bad for them because they're really nice people."
"I don't know how I'd feel. I really don't," said Mary. "I have two great-grandchildren that are four and five and I don't know how I'd feel."
