2 has its first over-the-air performance upgrade waiting for North American owners right now. For $1,195, a software update will add 68 hp and 15 lb-ft of torque to the already quick sedan. Polestar says that it’ll improve numerous performance metrics and won’t require an annual subscription either.dual motor develops 408 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque.
That’s a healthy set of figures already but this upgrade brings the grand totals to 476 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. Sprinting from 0-60 now takes just 4.2 seconds instead of 4.45 and accelerating from 50-75 mph takes 2.2 seconds instead of 2.7.-Benz’s recent release of a yearly performance subscription. Polestar takes a little dig at that system saying “The permanent upgrade is a one-time cost of $1,195, delivering exceptional value without the hassle of a subscription.
