Pokémon Winds and Waves has finally been properly confirmed by developer Game Freak and it's so exciting to see what they've been cooking up so far. We got our first look at the game's new starters, as well as the water-dominated archipelago that players will be exploring in the game's open world.
Though we can glean a lot from the videos shown as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations, there are still a lot of unanswered questions that remain predictably secret for the time being. One of those is the full roster of new Pokémon that will be available in the Pokédex as part of Generation X. That should include some brand-new Legendary Pokémon for us to track down, but it seems we might already know what they are, thanks to what have previously proved to be quite reliable leaks. Pokémon Winds & Waves Legendary Monsters Sound Wild As first reported by Vice in their round-up of all the potential leaks surrounding Pokémon Winds and Waves, we have two descriptions from the developer regarding their plans for the upcoming Legendaries. The first is storm-related, and described as follows,"An elder guardian figure residing on an isolated, storm-covered island. It guides humans and Pokémon through the power of wind and accepts only those who have properly raised the Seed Pokémon." That Legendary is likely the one seen as a cloud silhouette in the game's first trailer, as highlighted above in the image. The second monster sounds just as interesting, with the developer describing it as such: "A counterpart elder figure living on a remote island surrounded by powerful seas. It embodies balance and guidance through the force of waves, and similarly judges the worthiness of the player." Both are inevitably going to be very exciting creatures to try and discover in the game's open-world, and it's nice that they'll be rolling in some of the headline new mechanics and features, including Seed Pokémon. We'll Find Out More About Winds & Waves Soon Though the full game isn't set to release until 2027, we should hear more about the game before too long, with additional looks at the gameplay and confirmation of more specific details around the roster of new 'mons and gameplay mechanics.
