We’ll watch some storms work this way through evening, but odds aren’t great for much. Mid- and upper 90s are likely Saturday.

It felt like it was 105 to 110 degrees around and east of Interstate 95 on Friday afternoon thanks to a combo of high heat and humidity. The four days with temperatures of at least 98 in the city this year are tied for fourth most to date, and we could pick up another as soon as Saturday. While there are a couple of chances for raindrops ahead, none seem likely to deliver much, and clearer skies should dominate.

An isolated storm is possible this evening. We’re also watching storms around southwest Virginia headed in this general direction, but they should fall apart on approach and would arrive late even if they make it. Lows will range from about mid-70s to low 80s. D.C. could be close to a daily record warm low of 83 degrees, which is only one off the warmest low in the city overall. If it falls short, it could still become the second morning with lows in the 80-plus range this year.
