Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has taken aim at the Coalition as he addressed Qantas’ illegal sacking of 1,700 workers. He said the court’s ruling on the sackings were “backed up” by a submission the Labor government made. “At the time I note that the Coalition said that was the right of the business to act and defended that action by Qantas,” the Prime Minister said during a media conference on Tuesday. “Just as they didn’t have much to say way back when I was a minister when Qantas grounded its fleet. “Qantas is an important Australian company – and there’s a lot of work to do to repair its reputation.”
