LAS VEGAS - When it comes to personnel, the Spurs are covering all of the bases this summer. A week after adding a pair of high-profile veterans in Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes , the Spurs have reached agreements with a pair of their holdover young big men in Sandro Mamukelashvili and Charles Bassey .
Spurs see no need to wait for Victor Wembanyama to age A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Bassey played two seasons at St. Anthony. The Spurs first signed Bassey in October 2022 after he was waived by Philadelphia. Bassey suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in December while playing for the Spurs' G League affiliate in Austin and missed the remainder of this season. It is unclear if Bassey will be cleared for full participation in time for training camp, which starts in late September.
