A tragic attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans left 10 dead and 30 injured when a pickup truck plowed into a crowd celebrating New Year's Eve. The suspect is still at large.
A pickup truck plowed into a crowd of people celebrating New Year's Eve on Bourbon Street in New Orleans early Wednesday morning, leaving 10 dead and 30 injured. The suspect, who has not been identified, allegedly drove around barricades and intentionally struck the crowd. One witness, Paul S., awoke to popping sounds shortly after 3:00 a.m. He looked out his window and saw the aftermath of the attack, describing bodies strewn across sidewalks and emergency responders tending to victims.
Another witness, Jimmy Cothran, was inside a nightclub when the incident occurred and witnessed multiple bodies lying injured. The suspect was not seen by witnesses, but four bullet holes were found in the rear windshield of the pickup truck
