After experiencing cool temperatures, rain, and snow last week, this week promises record warmth and sunshine. Temperatures are expected to soar into the middle 80s on both Monday and Tuesday. In fact, Phoenix reached a high of 86 degrees on Monday, equaling the record set back in 1925. Tuesday is predicted to reach 85 degrees, potentially tying the previous record set in 1963.
While Wednesday and Thursday might only reach around 80 degrees – not breaking any records – they will still be significantly warmer than the average for this time of year. \The high-pressure system responsible for this exceptional warmth will gradually shift and weaken. The National Weather Service Phoenix posted on X, 'Well above normal temperatures continue today with highs 10-17 degrees above normal forecasted for this afternoon. Phoenix could once again tie or even set a new record high temperature today.' \Despite the shift in weather patterns, temperatures are anticipated to remain considerably warmer than usual for early February throughout the week and weekend. Highs in the middle to upper 70s are likely through the weekend and even into early next week. The forecast remains dry for the next week, but winds are expected to increase on Tuesday in northern Arizona. Gusts of 25-35 mph are anticipated around Flagstaff and Show Low.
