NEW ORLEANS — Phoenix Suns interim managing governor Sam Garvin said he can contact suspended Robert Sarver about “extraordinary items.”
Crowder and the Suns “mutually agreed” he wouldn’t attend training camp as the team has been trying to trade the veteran forward.“I’ll give you a little insight there. Wind back like 17 years and we bought the team in 2004 from Jerry . We kind of divided up who would do what. Robert would be the head guy, so to speak, the managing partner, right? “So I’ve always admired James and watched him throughout his career. He became treasurer of the , worked on the CBA . Did a phenomenal job there. So when I came in, on Sept. 20, to be the governor, I just kind of sat down with him and I said, ‘I think it’s incredible what you’ve accomplished not only at the Suns, but before the Suns, and you’ve excelled in everything you’ve done. And I think you should be president of basketball operations for a variety of reasons.
