Phillip Schofield has sensationally quit This Morning after 21 years of fronting the show, amidst reports of a "feud" with his co-host Holly Willoughby.
“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.” Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Managing Director, Media and Entertainment also weighed in on Phil's departure, as he added: “Phillip is hands down one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him for his two decades worth of absolutely terrific television on the This Morning sofa.
Rumours of a "fall-out" between Phil, 62, and Holly, 41, have been swirling for the last week, with talk of tension on-set as the once-close pals are said to have been "barely speaking" once the cameras stop rolling. However, Holly made no public statement about the state of their relationship, and has instead carried on with business as usual.
