The Philippine Navy on Friday said a South Korea n passenger vessel and its nine Filipino crew members were rescued after the ship encountered mechanical malfunction in the waters of Burgos, Ilocos Norte.In a statement, the Naval Forces Northern Luzon said Udosarang 1 issued an emergency alert when it experienced mechanical malfunction around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

“The emergency alert was monitored by the Maritime Situation Awareness Center – North and Naval Monitoring Detachment Pasuquin ,” the Naval Forces Northern Luzon said.“This derangement restricted its ability to maneuver, prompting this Command to take immediate action,” it added.BRP Nestor Reinoso was deployed to respond to Udosarang 1.
