MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health on Wednesday recorded 326 additional COVID-19 infections, as the number of active cases dropped further to 11,786.

, the new infections have placed the country’s COVID-19 caseload at 4,065,569 nationwide, with 3,988,338 recoveries and 65,445 deaths.Despite the drop in active cases, Wednesday’s fresh infections were higher — almost double the amount —- than the cases recorded on Tuesday, which was 174.in the past two weeks with 2,754 cases, followed by Calabarzon at second with 1,291 infections, and Central Luzon with 617.
