Drivers of petrol and diesel vehicles have been turned away in their thousands by MOT test centres, as mechanics refused to test their cars.
Also, 785 cars were denied their MOT test because an inspection "may be dangerous or cause damage", with over 300 cars considered "not fit to be driven".Graham Conway, Managing Director at Select Car Leasing urged road users to make sure their cars were not in “disrepair” before their annual check. "The stats highlight the need to present your car to an MOT testing station in a clean and tidy condition. Make sure all the doors open and close as they should and empty the boot of detritus to make inspection simple and easy.
