Everett police apprehended Andrew Freeman Jr. for a parole violation, but released him before confirming his identity as the person of interest in a stabbing near North Middle School.
Everett police have apprehended a 21-year-old man named Andrew Freeman Jr. as a person of interest in a stabbing incident that occurred near North Middle School on January 16, 2025. According to authorities, a 13-year-old boy was stabbed just before 8 a.m. in the vicinity of 26th Street and Broadway. Freeman Jr. was taken into custody at 9:21 a.m. on the same day for possession of a controlled substance and/or parole violation . However, he was released the following day at 2:14 p.m.
The Everett Police Department's Public Information Officer, Natalie Given, informed KOMO News that they were unable to positively identify Freeman Jr. as the suspect until after his release from custody. This unfortunate delay has hampered the investigation.Records reveal that Freeman Jr. has been arrested at least ten other times since 2022. His previous offenses include second-degree robbery, attempted robbery, and resisting arrest. Notably, Freeman Jr. stands at 6 feet tall. Given his history and the seriousness of the current incident, the Everett Police Department is urging the public to immediately report any sightings of Freeman Jr. to their department
