A suspect was arrested in Oakland, California, on suspicion of shooting at a police vehicle occupied by an officer. The shooting occurred around midnight on Seminary Avenue. While the officer was unharmed, authorities believe the officer may have been the intended target, although a motive is yet to be determined.
OAKLAND — A person was arrested Monday on suspicion of shooting up an occupied police vehicle in what authorities say “may” have been an attempt to hurt or kill the officer.The suspect was arrested Monday afternoon. The shooting occurred about 30 minutes after midnight, on the 6000 block of Seminary Avenue in East Oakland .
Authorities say the officer was in his or her car, investigating another incident, then heard gunfire and realized the vehicle was being struck by bullets. The officer wasn’t injured.
