PercyJackson star Walker Scobell reveals the novel's iconic Ares fight will be featured in the Disney+ show. 'That was probably the coolest fight in the whole series. When I got casted for this, the first thing I thought was, 'Ares fight.''
Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Walker Scobell confirms that the Disney+ television series adaptation will feature the novel's iconic fight between Percy and the Greek God of War Ares. Scobell will portray the young son of Poseidon in Disney+'s adaptation of Rick Riordan's series of novels. The first Percy Jackson and the Olympians trailer debuted during this year's D23 Expo, giving viewers a tease of Camp Half-Blood and of Scobell as the titular protagonist.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Taking place in the modern world, Percy Jackson and the Olympians follow Scobell's young Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old who learns that he is the demigod son of the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon, when he is pursued by a number of monsters from Greek mythology. Percy is invited to attend Camp Half-Blood, a safe settlement where the children of the gods can train and hone their abilities.
"It was the Ares fight. That was probably the coolest fight in the whole series. When I got casted for this, the first thing I thought was, 'Ares fight.' I'm so excited to do it." Ares' Role In Percy Jackson's Story Explained The father of Camp Half-Blood's Clarissa La Rue , Ares is an antagonist of the series, playing a key role in the events of the first Percy Jackson and the Olympians book. Taking on the appearance of a brutish biker, Ares is manipulated by King of the Titans, Kronos, into taking part in Luke Castellan's theft of the Lightning Bolt, pretending to be an ally to Percy in order to use him to spark conflict between the Gods.
With Riordan being optimistic about season 2's chances of being greenlit, dedicated fans of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are sure to be pleased that the God of War will finally make a proper live-action appearance that could set up future seasons. Despite Ray Winstone being cast as Ares in 2010's Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief movie, the character's role was reduced to a cameo on Olympus, with Luke instead taking up much of his role in the film.
