Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has explained what it's like to work for Blues boss Pep Guardiola.
Erling Haaland has revealed that Pep Guardiola jokingly threatened to 'smash' him if he did not focus on the training ground ahead of sealing his move to Manchester City.
However, though he often makes it look easy, Haaland admits that playing under Guardiola is challenging due to the intense demands the manager places on the whole squad. Focus is of paramount importance, so much so that Guardiola warned the 23-year-old what would happen if he didn't pay full attention on the training ground.
"When I spoke with him before I signed here he said ‘I don’t care what you do, do whatever you want. But when you have me on the pitch you have to be focused. If not, I will smash you!’ “I think that’s a big part of why it’s so successful here with all the staff. After training – don’t think of football anymore. You think and you develop on the pitch. When you are on the pitch – you focus. That is what Pep demands.
