With rising inflation, many Americans are stocking up on essential goods before prices climb even higher. The article shares a variety of responses from people on what they are buying in bulk, including food staples, vitamins, medicine, and personal care items.

"I Stocked Up On A Year's Supply Of It At Costco ": People Are Sharing Things They're Buying In Bulk Now Before Prices Skyrocketfor 30 days, it's looking like a lot of items Americans use and buy every day are set to get more expensive — again.

In a very normal post about the tariffs on Truth Social, President Trumpthe things they're stocking up on to get ahead of rising prices. While most of us probably can't afford to buy four years' worth of stuff right now , it might be a good idea to grab a couple extra things you use all the time before prices go up. Here are some of the best responses:"It's been going down in price recently too as the supply was better this most recent season than it had been the last couple." "Vitamins and over-the-counter medicines. Most of these are imported and have a long shelf life, so we are stocking up." "I'm not someone who eats a ton of imported foods, but I honestly worry a lot about domestic foods as well due to the agricultural work that is done by largely undocumented immigrants. I will be stocking up on chicken breasts, drumsticks, and thighs when I next go to Costco or see any on sale to build a buffer in my deep freezer. I'll also buy a 20lb bag of rice, continue to buy dry beans and lentils, chicken and beef bullion cubes, pasta, canned tomatoes, soups, frozen veggies and fruit, canned veggies and fruit, etc. Make sure to always rotate your stock so you're eating the oldest stuff first." "My biggest recommendation is to stock up on things you know you will eat. It does no good to stock up on cheap things that you won't be able to stand when the time comes to eat it." "I got some bell peppers from the warehouse store yesterday, cut them up, and froze them. Since they’re imported from Mexico, I’m worried tariffs will make them more expensive since they already cost so much. I also got onions and garlic, and I got a big jug of garlic powder as well since it’s the spice we go through the quickest, and a lot of garlic is imported from China. Then, canned beans and canned tomatoes. All of these things are things I regularly use in recipes when I cook at home." "I'm going back to my local CSA for vegetables and fruit. I took a year off, but I think I'd rather have the security with tariffs coming in. I'm also expanding my garden, and I bought a canner for those vegetables I plan on growing." "I'm packing the freezer with as much citrus as possible. Dried beans, lentils, split peas and rice. Canned beans, fruits and vegetables. Canned chicken, tuna, off-brand spam, etc., for the meat eaters in the house. Seconding the vitamins and OTC meds, another commenter mentioned. Also, birth control." "Coffee. Even if you don't get your preferred coffee from Colombia, the amount of our coffee that comes from there will create upward pressure on the prices of all coffees if the tariffs actually go through." "I’m stocking up on canned fruits and vegetables. Who knows what prices for fresh will be in like six months to a year 😬." "One thing I made a huge point to order a few months ago was high quality masks for the whole family. We still mask daily, so these are separate for an emergency stash. Between things like major disasters like recent wildfires and H5N1 ramping up, nothing makes me feel more prepared and safe than that." "Paper products. Canada is where most of the US paper comes from, and if tariffs are enacted, we will notice it at the register." "I just hit up Costco and stocked up on a year's supply of coffee, flour, rice, and sugar. I'd also advise you to buy seasonings like paprika, black pepper, and vanilla that are typically imported. I typically keep two cases of evaporated milk on hand.""I don't know how frugal it might be to some people, but I spent a week pricing deep freezers, bought one, and am going to set it up tomorrow and fill it with frozen veggies, meat, fish, etc. You can freeze all kinds of things, even cheese! I've also bought a bunch of masks, and mask filters to go inside cloth masks and stocked up on hand sanitizer, Lysol concentrate, bleach, and hand soap. I'm also working on stocking up on beauty care things like body soap, shaving razors, and deodorant." "I've decided not to stock up. I considered it and actually even started buying a few things and then realized that there was no way I could stock up in the next few months enough to last me for the next few years. So I decided to look at what I could pay off, like my car, and reorganize my finances so I'm sitting in a better position for higher prices." "I hate to think what fresh bananas are going to cost. I have a bunch of them in my freezer already, but I might try to squeeze in some more." And finally,"I stocked up on imported stuff like Marmite and tea — especially tea — before the end of the year. I keep tons of beans, rice, and canned/frozen veggies around all the time anyway, but I did get a little extra last month, too. Trying very much not to buy anything but perishable foods and cat supplies for as long as I can."Have you stocked up on anything ahead of Trump's tariffs? Or are you taking other steps to get financially prepared? Tell me all about it in the comments.
