Penn State and USC are set to meet in a marquee game in LA. All signs point to Drew Allar being ready for the moment.

USC is a historic program with 11 claimed national championships and eight Heisman Trophy winners, the most of any school in college football. The Coliseum, built in 1923, hosted two Summer Olympics, a pair of Super Bowls and countless memorable moments in sports.

Sure, it’s a nationally-televised clash between two of the most iconic programs in college football. Sure, it’s one of the Big Ten’s first cross-country marquee games since the addition of the Pac-12 power programs. Sure, it takes place in LA, where stars are born.“For us, we get an opportunity to go on the road and play a very talented team,” Allar said Wednesday. “They’re athletic, very talented. So it’s going to be a fun game no matter what.

Allar has completed 73 of 103 passes for 1,101 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception through five games. The advanced stats also favor the former five-star prospect. Allar ranks fifth nationally in ESPN’s QBR, which “incorporates all of a quarterback’s contributions to winning.” The junior’s 10.7 yards per attempt ranks fifth in the FBS, too.
