James Gunn reveals which part of Peacemaker Season 1 won't be canon to the forthcoming DCU he's creating with Peter Safran.
The first season of Peacemaker, which was created by Gunn, premiered in January 2022. A spin-off to 2021’s The Suicide Squad, the show’s initial outing was set within the DC Extended Universe , which officially concluded with 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Gunn and Peter Safran are now creating a new DC continuity, the DCU, that officially kicks off next month with the animated Creature Commandos series.will be set in the DCU and will serve as a “soft reboot” of the series.
“The truth is almost all of Peacemaker is canon with the exception of Justice League… which we will kind of deal with in the next season of Peacemaker,” Gunn said.
