Paul Scholes has lauded Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as the Manchester United icon weighed in on the debate surrounding the two midfielders.
During their time with the Three Lions, England managers had an embarrassment of riches when it came to midfield options with Scholes, Gerrard and Chelsea's Frank Lampard to pick from. Scholes was probed on the debate surrounding himself and his former England team-mate. And he revealed that Gerrard was more of an athlete than he was and that he couldn't replicate the Liverpool number eight's heroics at Anfield if the pair swapped places.
