A few clouds, gusty winds and early morning showers didn’t put a stop to the 46th Annual Azalea Trail Run in downtown Mobile on Saturday.

Participants put on their running shoes for the annual event, which serves as one of the first signs of spring in the Mobile community. There were 10K and 5K events in addition to a 2K fun run.Cody Parker, who took part in the run, told FOX10 News what’s so special about the event. “This is Mobile’s premier race. Everyone from Mobile shows up on this day to race and you get to find out who the best in the city is,” Parker said.
“I’ve never won it. I’ve come close. I’d love to be able to win it one day and say that, you know, I’m the best for at least one day,” he said.
