BROOK PARK, Ohio –A Brook Park woman, 43, was attacked at her Richard Drive home by a 40-year-old Parma woman at about 11:30 p.m. July 12. The Brook Park woman said she had invited guests to her home for fireworks and food.
The Parma woman arrived to pick up her son, who was one of the guests. The Brook Park woman told the Parma woman she wasn’t welcome there and an argument ensued. As the Brook Park woman sat in her screened sunroom, the Parma woman hit the side of her face with a closed fist. Witnesses corroborated the story. The Brook Park woman’s face was red under her eye but police saw no swelling or bruising The party guests separated the two women. The Parma woman left the property with her son. Someone called police. By the time police arrived, the Parma woman was gone. Police contacted the Parma woman. She said she had gone to the older woman’s house to pick up her son. When she arrived, someone gave her permission to hang out for a while. The Parma woman said she started arguing with the Brook Park woman. Party guests separated them and told the Parma woman to leave. The Parma woman said that when she stepped back into her car, the Brook Park woman and her guests threw objects at her vehicle until she drove away. The Parma woman’s son backed her story. The Parma woman said she didn’t remember hitting the Brook Park woman.
