Parents are raising concerns after finding out a non-binary substitute teacher filled in at Blue Ball Elementary School. The school district is facing pushback from parents who want the teacher removed. The school board meeting was filled with a mix of reactions. Some parents are fine with the substitute teacher teaching their kids and some completely hate the idea of it.
The teacher continues to be employed and according to the Eastern Lancaster County School District, the decision is supported by federal law. The president of Trans Minors Rights Chriss Nelson, who is nonbinary and a parent as well, says parents should be open to this.
