as he and a date walked along a Montrose sidewalk last month.
The lawsuit contends Chambers acted negligently by speeding and being intoxicated at the time of the crash. Police were dispatched to the fatal wreck around 2:30 a.m. and found Chambers’ Porsche vehicle wedged against a pole. The impact launched McMullin’s body about 30 feet from where he was hit. Kristina Chambers, 32, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, accused of driving the car that hit and killed Joseph McMullin, 33, who was on a first date in the Montrose on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Houston.Her defense attorney in the criminal case, Mark Thiessen, since has filed a motion to suppress evidence related to a blood sample taken at a hospital. During a recent court appearance, he characterized the criminal allegations as better suited for a civil lawsuit.
