According to a PhilHealth Circular No. 2021-0014 issued last June, the package shall include all services needed to effectively manage COVID-19 confirmed asymptomatic and mild cases needing isolation, based on existing clinical practice guidelines. However, testing and inpatient services for COVID-19 patients “shall be covered by other applicable COVID-19 case rates.”
Militant labor group Partido ng Manggagawa said on Monday the government and employers are obliged to ensure the safety of their workers. “Antigen tests are cheaper than RT-PCR but still too expensive for minimum wage earners who are among the working poor,” Magtubo pointed out.
