Two rain-inducing weather systems may prevail across parts of Luzon, while warm and humid conditions will likely persist over the rest of the country in the next few days, the weather bureau said on Monday.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the stationary front, a boundary of colliding air masses that is barely moving, has been affecting the extreme portion of Northern Luzon in the last couple of days.
He pointed out that the frontal system is pulling the southwesterly wind flow that induced heavy rains over some parts of Central and Northern Luzon last Sunday evening. Both stationary front and southwesterly wind flow could trigger flash floods or landslides during heavy rains.
