Fernando Tatis Jr. playing against the Dodgers for the first time since 2021 as Padres start three-game series at Petco Park against NL West rivals
The 35-year-old veteran is the reigning NL pitcher of the month, holding opponents to a .174 average in upping his career victory total to 202. That includes 23 wins in 45 starts against the Padres. Kershaw struck out 11 in 12 innings of one-run ball last year against the Padres in the regular season and allowed three runs in five innings in a no-decision in the Padres’ Game 2 win in the NLDS.
Darvish andwill both move up a day as Joe Musgrove is pushed back from this spot to allow a blister that developed after his last start to heal completely. Darvish had not allowed a home run all year until giving up three on Sunday in Mexico City’s high altitude. He has pitched six innings in three of his five starts. Darvish had a 2.52 ERA in four starts last year against LA and earned the win in Game 2 of the NLDS with five innings of three-run ball.
