Both have San Diego ties; Punto will be making his professional coaching debut
The team announced that former major league players Robby Hammock and Nick Punto are joining manager Mike Shildt’s staff for 2025.
Hammock was the bench coach in El Paso, the Padres’ Triple-A affiliate, in 2022 before managing in high Single-A and Double-A for the Pirates the past two seasons. The former catcher played parts of six seasons for the Diamondbacks between 2003 and ‘11.
