Just like him, PROMDI presidential candidate Sen. Manny Pacquiao sees no reason why Filipinos must not vote for Vice President Leni Robredo and Partido Reporma’s standard bearer Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson.
But unlike him, Pacquiao believes voters should not back the candidacies of two other presidential rivals – former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos jr. and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso”, because of corruption issues tied to them.During his interview with television host Boy Abunda on Friday, Jan. 28, Pacquiao blurted one liners in response to the ‘fast talk” segment of the program where the host asked why voters should deny votes to four rivals.
In his over one hour interview in ABS-CBN’s “The 2022 Presidential One-on-One Interviews” hosted by Abunda, Pacquiao always went back to the issue of corruption in nearly all of the ten main questions on various topics raised during the program. Recounting a number of times growing up in abject poverty, Pacquiao blamed dishonest and corrupt government officials for making life miserable for Filipinos.
Now a billionaire as a result of his famed boxing career, Pacquiao said the Philippines is debt-ridden and its economy in shambles because of corruption. “Tumatakbo ako dahil alam ko ang gagawin ko lalong lalo na sa pagsugpo ng korapsyon at sa pagpoapalago ng ekonomya, na makakapag bigay ng trabaho sa mga Filipinong walang trabaho. at maipagmalaki natin ang ating bansa. ,” he said.
