Dawnrunner was created by Ram V and Evan Cagle. Set roughly a century into the future, Dawnrunner is about the first in a new line of mechs. 100 years prior, a portal opened on Earth, spewing forth massive kaiju, named “Tetza.” To combat the menace, humanity built the Iron Kings, and the Dawnrunner is its successor. The Iron Kings have proven effective, but even a century after first contact, the kaiju’s language remains a mystery, hindering efforts to stop them.
Dawnrunner Is Being Masterminded By Some of Comics' Hottest Creators Dawnrunner Is an Excellent Science Fiction Comic Ram V, one of Dawnrunner’s creators, has been on a hot streak as of late. After masterminding a revamp of DC’s Swamp Thing, Ram followed up with sterling runs on Detective Comics and The Vigil. Ram has also been behind some of the most lauded creator-owned comics in recent memory, including The Many Deaths of Laila Starr and Rare Flavours.
