Ozzy Osbourne , the iconic metal vocalist, is marking a comeback to the stage with a performance featuring beloved Black Sabbath tracks. This follows his recent surgery, a milestone in his ongoing battle with health challenges. Osbourne reflects on his illustrious career and the path that led him to this point in his new book, ' Last Rites .' In an excerpt shared in a press release, he candidly addresses the ups and downs, the triumphs and missteps that define his life.
'People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything?' Osbourne writes. 'I'm like, f*** no. If I'd been clean and sober, I wouldn't be Ozzy. If I'd done normal, sensible things, I wouldn't be Ozzy.' The legendary frontman maintains a defiant spirit, embracing his unique journey. 'Look, if it ends tomorrow, I can't complain,' Osbourne continues. 'I've been all around the world. Seen a lot of things. I've done good... and I've done bad. But right now, I'm not ready to go anywhere.' 'Last Rites' delves into Osbourne's personal life, offering glimpses into his enduring relationship with his wife Sharon and his encounters with fellow rock legends. The book chronicles his experiences with icons like Slash, Bon Scott, John Bonham, Keith Moon, and the poignant final moments he shared with Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister. In a unique creative endeavor, Osbourne also paints, finding solace and expression through the medium. He has collaborated on five pieces, incorporating brushstrokes from chimpanzees saved from laboratories. Proceeds from these one-of-a-kind paintings, auctioned on the Omega Auctions website, support Save the Chimps, a sanctuary providing refuge for rescued apes. Osbourne states, 'I paint because it gives me peace of mind, but I don't sell my paintings. I've made an exception with these collaborations as it raises money for Save the Chimps,' demonstrating his commitment to animal welfare.
