The Avon Lake power plant's owners have retained commercial real estate firm to look for buyer
The former Avon Lake power plant, shown before demolition began, is the site of a future lakefront development to be determined.AVON LAKE, Ohio -- The former Avon Lake power plant will soon be for sale in the next step toward future redevelopment.
Once listed, the land will be available for mixed-use development as a part of the Avon Lake power plant and Redevelopment Initiative to provide access to the lakefront. The power plant closed since 2022, opening a rare opportunity to newly development a large piece of land in the Cleveland area along Lake Erie..“This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform and develop 40 acres on Lake Erie,” Scott Reschly, president of the Avon Lake Environmental Redevelopment Group said in a statement.
