Registration is now open for fall programs within the Lorain Public Library System. A sample of the items offered at the Avon and North Ridgeville library branches is below.
Sunday hours will return at the Avon Branch Sept. 9. The library will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. through May., 37485 Harvest Drive, presents an Introduction to Streaming Music program from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 5. Learn how to download, stream and play music from the top music streaming apps off the smart device of your choosing. Pre-registration required.
Grandparents Day is Sept. 8. Stop by the library from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 6 for games, crafts and activities to celebrate. Nick Sheffield of K.E. McCartney & Associates, representing Mike Brunner of Brother Management Company, LLC doing business as Miller Road Mini Storage, LLC, is requesting approval to construct a 15,400-square-foot, five building, self-storage facility at 1220 Miller Road.The Avon Historical Society is hosting a program titled, “Lost Houses of Lorain County,” presented by Col. Matthew W. Nahorn of the new Indian Ridge Museum, from 7 to 8 p.m. Sept.
Brady’s K9 is dedicated to providing essential equipment and resources to K9s, ensuring they are well-equipped and protected for their entire shift, according to information in the social media post. The last day for the season is Sept. 2 and the pool hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Days and times are subject to change without notification.

Man arrested on sex charges after tip from Crime Stoppers: North Ridgeville police blotterOn July 16, police were forwarded an anonymous tip from Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County alleging a sexual assault. The tip was investigated and a 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and unlawful sexual contact with a minor.
