A remake of the 2014 Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance, Cold Pursuit follows Neeson as a snowplow driver who seeks revenge against the drug cartel responsible for the death of his son.
Now, four years after its release in theaters, the underappreciated action thriller is now a hit on Netflix. For the past week of October 23 to October 29, Cold Pursuit was watched for 13.2 million hours and received 6.7 million total views, marking its first week in the Global Top 10. For the week, the four-year-old action thriller beat out the new Netflix original Reptile, which has dominated the Top 10 in its first five weeks.
How Did Cold Pursuit Perform In Theaters? Cold Pursuit has been largely overlooked since its release, and it all started with its box office run. The movie was released in theaters in February 2019 and made just $10.8 million in its first weekend, which was one of Neeson's worst opening weekends of the decade next to 2010’s The Next Three Days, which took in just $6.5 million.
