San Antonio police have confirmed that a disturbing social media threat to shoot a dog originated outside the city. The graphic post, shared on the department's Facebook page, sparked concern and a swift investigation.

A threat to shoot a dog posted on social media originated outside of San Antonio, police said. San Antonio Police Department officials shared the images of the graphic threat on the department's Facebook page on Tuesday night. The threat, which was typed on a black background, began by asking: 'Anyone want a dog before I put a bullet in its head.' The second part reads: '35 snug won't make to much of a mess of a dogs head right.

Or should that be an outside activity?' Police officials said in the post that both SAPD and Animal Care Services were aware of the post and that they had investigated it. However, there are many unanswered questions. Sgt. Washington Moscoso, a police spokesperson, said Wednesday that the authorities in the city where it originated have been made aware of this post. The department did not identify the person who made the threats or their location, however, several people responded to the Facebook post in comments. Some named a person in comments, providing a full name and address.
