Buckeyes TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, and Gee Scott Jr. spent Saturday afternoon connecting with fans on a personal level.
"One girl in the front, her name was Meme, she stood up, and before you know it 10 , 20 , 50 , everybody came down,” reflected Gee Scott Jr. “The boldness of one man, the boldness of an Ohio State football player, the boldness of Buckeye Nation, can snowball effect into thousands of people to accepting our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” May 18, 2024 ’s event at Upper Arlington High School. The event was free to the public, and over 700 people registered.
The Walk creates a path for athletes to express their faith. Byrd connected with Henderson, giving the running back the opportunity to share how his faith influences his football career. Henderson recruited his teammates to help with the event. At the end of the session, Scott Jr. called upon audience members to join in a group prayer. Over 70 people answered his call.The tight end was moved by the gesture.
“They just commend us to keep going with it, and I’ve been seeing coaches being inspired by it,” said Scott Jr.
