Pirates wing-back Deon Hotto is determined to lead the team to victory in the league and Champions League, emphasising that head coach Jose Riveiro is now “more at home” in his third season at the club. Hotto, a key figure since joining from the defunct Bidvest Wits in 2020, has been instrumental in the team’s success with five domestic cup victories.
He added that the focus during pre-season has been on challenging for these top titles. “The talk for us has been about the league and Champions League, so that’s what we want to go for because we know how to win those other domestic cups.”Hotto’s versatility on the field, including roles as left-winger, right-winger, left-back, and even as a false nine, has solidified his importance to the team. With 21 goals and 30 assists in 166 games, his dedication is evident.
