Original Pancake House brings a third location to Northeast Ohio -- Strongsville.

The new OPH will take over the space formerly occupied by Rico’s Tacos & Tequila in Strongsville Towne Center. It will seat 190 and have a patio.

This is the third Original Pancake House in Northeast Ohio. The others are in Woodmere and Fairview Park. All three Northeast Ohio locations are owned and operated by Cleveland Restaurant Management Group. Founded in Portland, Oregon in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke, the concept has more than 100 franchises throughout the nation.

“We want to grow the Pancake House brand because of the food and the environment,” said Martin Moran, vice president of operations for CRMG. “We take pride in keeping the legacy of the brand by being intentional selecting the people that work with us.” Despite its chain status, OPH is not the usual slap-em-on-the-plate pancake joint. Pancakes are made with a sour dough yeast. All batters and sauces are made fresh in each restaurant kitchen.Signature items include the apple pancake and a fluffy Dutch baby made with plenty of eggs and served with lemon, whipped butter and powdered sugar.
