The Panthers’ next home game is scheduled for Sept. 20 against Strongsville.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The dates and locations of Euclid High School’s four remaining home football games remain unchanged after Friday night’s shooting, which happened an hour after Euclid’s game, claiming the life of a 17-year-old boy and injuring four others.Euclid’s administration, including superintendent Christopher Papouras and athletic director Tony Fisher, have not returned messages from cleveland.

Last year, Cleveland Heights, “out of an abundance of caution,” closed its home football game against Euclid to the public, allowing only families of players, cheerleaders and marching band members. And Euclid moved its homecoming game to Brunswick after citing “inappropriate and inexcusable behavior on and off campus” among some Euclid students.Euclid’s next home game is scheduled to be played Sept. 20 against Strongsville.

While no changes for Euclid’s remaining home games have been announced by any schools, the Greater Cleveland Conference is scheduled to have an athletic directors meeting on Monday. “I’m sure it will come up,” said D’Amato, who added that he was not aware of any discussions this week regarding game changes.

“I think everyone is kind of in unison on this in the GCC being supportive of Euclid,” D’Amato said. “We look forward to working with all of the GCC schools on making the best environment for our schools.”“The Euclid School District continues to fully cooperate with the EPD throughout this ongoing investigation. In compliance with state and federal law, we are required to keep all student information confidential and, therefore, will not be providing further comments at this time.
